School Meals

School Meals

Food, Glorious Food!

Nutritious, homemade meals and snacks are prepared on the premises by our catering department. Vegetarian options are always available and individual dietary needs are catered for wherever possible.

Lunchtimes are staggered, with pupils from the primary phase offered the first sitting from 11.45am.

Senior pupils choose from either of the hot food options or from the large selection of freshly prepared sandwiches available each day. There is also a selection of light snacks, fresh fruit and salad.

Lady Royd Menu

Pupils choose from a colour coded menu which is changed every week, on a 3-week rota each term. Parents are asked to help their child to choose their lunch (red, blue or green) before they come to school each day.

During morning registration each child will put on a colour coded wrist band to ensure that they get their selected lunch.

Senior School Menu

The senior school operates a cashless catering payment system, primarily to make sure that the money allowed for purchasing lunch or a snack is used for that purpose only, but also to allow the senior girls more flexibility and personal choice .

Each pupil is issued with a personal dining card to which money can be added either by a)inserting coins or notes into the machine situated near the dining room or b) paying by cheque at the main school office. Additionally, the school has introduced a secure on-line payment system PARENT PAY which allow parents to pay for their child’s lunches directly to the school.

Free School Meals
