2011 Dance Show

The 2011 Dance Show ran from Wednesday 30 March to Saturday 2nd April. Entitled 'Past, Present, Future', the show used dance and drama to present an expressive journey through time to packed audiences over three evenings. Presented were the early 1900's with Titanic's maiden voyage, the roaring 20's, the Blitz, the punk rock era of the 70's, the modern day struggle between parents and teenagers and an alien future.
Exceptional choreography, creative lighting, and spirited stage presence worked together to create the show to beat all shows. Audience comments included:
“I am truly amazed by the professionalism and quality.”
“I attend this show every year, and every year it gets better.”
“An excellent evening of entertainment”
Headmistress Kathryn Matthews commented “The creative flair and commitment of the dancers is second to none – not to mention the choreography and production by our dance teachers. Parents and staff alike acknowledge the importance of the performing arts in increasing self confidence and overall achievement. Year on year our excellent public examination results reflect the benefits of a first-rate broad and balanced educational experience.”
Lydia Rawnsley, the Bradford Girls' Grammar School Dance Captain closed the show on Saturday by thanking all involved. She said “The Dance club at Bradford Girls' Grammar School is more than just a school club – it’s a truly unique and special team who work together with respect for each other’s talents.”
