Pastoral Care

Bradford Girl's Grammar School has an excellent pastoral system which supports pupils throughout school. The Pastoral heads lead a team of experienced form tutors and ensure that every pupil is making appropriate progress academically and socially. They ensure that the pupil experience at Bradford Girls' Grammar School is both successful and enjoyable.
Form tutors meet their forms twice a day for registration. They are also available at break and lunchtimes should an individual student need to see them.
In the sixth form, students study in groups of ten or twelve with their sixth form tutor who supports them through their course of study. The head of sixth form co-ordinates the roles of the tutors and organises outside speakers to support the tutorial programme with particular emphasis on preparation for university application.
Form tutors deliver the PHSE programme supported by relevant heads of department and appropriate outside agencies. Year groups are often given the responsibility for organising assemblies on national and international issues. For example, recent assemblies have focused on natural disasters and fund raising has been undertaken as a result.
The house system facilitates collaboration between year groups. Pupils are encouraged to take leadership roles and a wide range of inter-house competitions and challenges are run throughout the year. In addition, our rewards system enables pupils to fulfill potential academically and as well as through music and sport.
At Bradford Girls' Grammar School pupils demonstrate mutual respect. they are happy, and motivated, aiming high and achieving well beyond expectations.
