We offer as wide a curriculum as possible to enable girls to develop their full potential. The school is not bound by the National Curriculum, but does operate within its guidelines for the content of individual subject areas. A language carousel is provided in the first year to introduce girls to German and Spanish. At Key Stage 4, girls study biology, chemistry and physics to gain GCSE Science and GCSE Additional Science. If ability and progress allows they may study science in more depth which allows them to gain GCSE in Biology, Chemistry and Physics i.e. to gain an extra GCSE. All girls study nine full subjects at GCSE. In addition, GCSE Short Courses are offered in physical education and information & communication technology. Excellent specialist resources are available for all subjects areas, in addition to the extensive library. Careers guidance is provided and girls participate in the work experience scheme. A variety of teaching styles is used to access visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners. Differentiated tasks are used to challenge the gifted and talented or to support those who may need extra help. Due regard is also taken of the girls with special needs such as dyslexia, dyspraxia etc Download Senior School Prospectus This document is a large file and may take 2 to 3 minutes to download.
