Stagecoach Theatre Arts School

Stagecoach Theatre Arts School

Background to the Club

With over 700 theatre schools worldwide and more than 40,000 students, Stagecoach is the longest running and most successful performing arts schools network in the world. We ensure that each child gets the most out of their experience by building life skills and confidence while having lots of fun. Stagecoach Bradford opened in September 1999 and lots of our students have gone on to achieve great things.

Theatre Sessions at Bradford Girls’ Grammar School

Students participate in all three performing arts disciplines: drama classes, dance classes and singing classes – helping to develop confidence, physical awareness, communication and articulation – as well as being educational and fun.

All drama lessons, dance classes and singing lessons are run by professional teachers who have been fully CRB checked. With industry experience in choreography, singing, directing and acting, our teachers are experts in their chosen field.

Early Stages (for ages 4-6yrs)

Early stages students are encouraged to have fun and and friends while we teach them the foundations of singing, dancing and acting. These 90 minute sessions include 30 mins each of singing, dance and drama per week. The classes build kids confidence and develop life skills while they have fun and meet new friends. Perfect for little ones with big imaginations!

Main Stages (for ages 6-18yrs)

Students are split into three age groups for our Main Stage classes and are run for three hours each week, where they cover an hour of each discipline: singing, dancing and drama. Taught by professional and specialised teachers, students will develop skills such as confidence, improved communication as well as learning how to sing, dance and act.

What to Expect

Singing: We help students to find their voice in singing classes. Students are introduced to different singing styles and genres and receive specialised techniques to help them develop and improve their singing voice. Opportunities are given for students to initially sing solos only when they are ready and happy to do so.

Dancing: From street dance to musical theatre, our energetic classes teach students a variety of dance styles and routines. Furthermore, dance classes give students the perfect opportunity to become fitter, have fun and work off some of their excess energy! Students will improve in their technique and self-esteem as they master new skills.

Acting: Our drama classes give students the opportunity to explore their imagination and encourage their creativity as they work together on role-play, improvisation and performance texts. Acting harnesses many of the core social and mental skills that build self-esteem, an important element when going through school and life.

We provide all the costumes for shows, and the presentations at the end of each term are free for family members and friends of our students to watch unless we are doing a special performance at a professional theatre.
